Orcia DOC

In Montalcino, ATRIVM operates under a different banner, that of Orcia DOC, the denomination that defines its boundaries across 12 municipalities in southern Tuscany. The vineyard is dominated by Sangiovese, the base for reds and rosés that the disciplinare requires to have a minimum alcohol content of 11.5% and a maximum of 10% white grapes. These are strict parameters, guiding the style towards dark fruits, tension, and structure. Adhering to these rules is not mere conformity: it's how the winery maintains intensity and structural balance, qualities that make wines in this category interesting even for collectors. Orcia is a less exposed denomination than its famous neighbors, and precisely for this reason, it allows for a personal interpretation of Sangiovese. The territory, characterized by hills and poor soils, imparts a dry and vertical physiognomy to the wine. In the interplay between disciplinare and terroir, ATRIVM seeks coherence between what the land offers and what the denomination imposes.
