Attems

The records speak for almost a thousand years: the first document linking the family to Collio dates back to 1106, and by 1764, ledgers already noted Ribolla Gialla and Refosco. These two grape varieties remain protagonists of the forty-four terraced hectares that descend south of Gorizia, sheltered from the bora and northern winds, on a slope that allows for slow and measured ripening. In this territory, Attems manages two complementary denominations: Friuli DOC, with a broader scope, and Collio Goriziano DOC, where the vocation becomes precise and defines the profile of the white wines. Alongside the native Friulian varieties, guests like Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay find their place, guided by the protected microclimate towards clear balances. The result combines varietal expression and environmental precision, without shortcuts: wines that reflect the exposure, the terracing design, and the hand of those who know the geography of Collio row by row, from medieval holdings to today's harvest.
