Az. Agr. Barraco
Marsala · Province of Trapani · Sicilia
In Marsala, since 2004, Az. Agr. Barraco has been working with the indigenous grape varieties of western Sicily—Nero d'Avola, Frappato, Nerello Mascalese, and others—crafting reds, rosés, and whites. The two regional denominations, Sicilia DOC and Sicilia IGP, frame a production that follows the entire cycle, from vineyard to bottle, combining the family's farming knowledge with constant and controlled research. The approach is distinctly personal: each vintage is driven by the idea that wine should evoke emotion, not merely meet a technical requirement. Experimentation doesn't erase previous work but deepens its roots, anchoring every trial to the Marsala territory. The result is a plural portrait of western Sicily, interpreted through multiple colors and grapes rather than a single stylistic signature. The winery welcomes visitors: stopping here is the most direct way to understand how the same terroir translates, time and again, into a red, a rosé, or a white.
