Az. Agr. Cascina Pian d'Or di Barbero Valter

In Mango, nestled in the Langhe, Valter Barbero inherited three generations of winemaking expertise: his grandfather Giovanni and father Giuseppe supplied grapes to the great Piedmontese sparkling wine houses. Valter chose a different path, bottling his own wine instead of selling the harvest and tying the company's name to a single grape variety, Brachetto. This grape is expressed in three directions: red, sparkling, and passito, all within the standards of Brachetto d'Acqui DOCG and its minimum alcohol threshold of 11.5%. It's a range that demonstrates how much a single grape can convey, transitioning from the lively aromaticity of the sparkling version to the density of the passito, with the red acting as an intermediate link. Each bottle functions as a close dialogue between the vineyard and the cellar, without intermediaries: the same independence that gave birth to the project is reflected in their approach to wine, as a direct narrative of a territory rather than a product to be handed over to others.
