AZ. AGR. MARCHETTI MAURIZIO

From Ancona, Marchetti Maurizio works with four DOCG denominations that trace an almost complete map of Marche's winemaking. The portfolio alternates between whites and reds: on one side, the mineral and taut Verdicchio Riserva, in both Matelica and Castelli di Jesi versions; on the other, Cònero, a structured red that ages for no less than twenty-four months. Completing the picture is Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, unique for its black grape, which introduces a distinctive note among the predominantly white grapes. Founded in the last century and now led by Maurizio Marchetti, the winery combines traditional practices with modern adjustments, choosing limited volume as a condition for concentration. Each denomination responds to a different microclimate — coastal proximity, inland altitude — and together they reflect the range of temperaments this region can express when the winemaker's hand remains measured. Nothing here chases effect: the work proceeds by subtraction, allowing the soil and the vintage to dictate the wine's profile.
