On the slopes of Monte Conero, where Adriatic winds temper the Montepulciano grape, the Moroder family winery operates with a management style dating back to the mid-18th century, and since the 1980s, has chosen the path of measured quality. The Cònero Rosso Riserva is the cornerstone of their work: twenty-four months of aging give it the structure and long finish that the appellation demands, without concessions to mere effect. Around this red wine, the other three denominations unfold, all DOCG. The two Verdicchio Riserva wines—from Matelica and Castelli di Jesi, both with eighteen months in the cellar—reveal two facets of the Marche white grape, while Vernaccia di Serrapetrona, from black grapes, completes the picture with its sparkling and still versions. It is a catalog that prioritizes territorial coherence over artifice. Those who ascend Monte Conero can stop at the winery to verify this in person, glass in hand, amidst the vineyards overlooking the sea.
