Offida DOCG

In Ascoli Piceno, Az. Agr. Pantaleone operates within the DOCG Offida, an area spanning twenty-five municipalities in southern Marche. The characteristic features are calcareous soils and a continental climate that finds its clearest expression in the hilly hinterland. Here, the vine encounters demanding conditions, where each vintage dictates choices rather than concessions. Production starts with Pecorino and other white grape varieties permitted by the denomination, for white and red wines that reach at least 12% alcohol. This alcohol content signals maturity and structure, consistent with a terroir that offers no easy path. In this strip of hills between the Adriatic and the Apennines, Pantaleone's work translates the minerality of the limestone into wines that assert their belonging to their specific slope, without yielding to reassuring softness. The Offida area remains one of the most distinctive territories of the Marche, and the winery interprets its physiognomy by focusing on precision rather than abundance, allowing the soil to dictate the character.
