AZ.AGR. SERGIO GIARDINA

Limone di Siracusa IGP

Along the Siracusan coast, Sergio Giardina cultivates the Femminello lemon, the variety that gives substance to the Limone di Siracusa IGP. Volcanic soil and a Mediterranean climate work together to intensify juiciness and acidity, while the area of origin—ten municipalities overlooking the Ionian Sea—ensures the drainage and sea breezes that characterize the fruit. The production cycle is articulated into three seasonal harvests, each with its own purpose: Primofiore in spring, Bianchetto in summer, Verdello in autumn, with uses ranging from cocktails to preservation. This segmentation makes the lemon not a single product but a small range distributed over time, appreciated in Italy and Europe. Overall, the company conveys the specificity of a citrus fruit that owes as much to the land as to the sea that borders it.
