Az. Agr. Spagnoletti Zeuli Onofrio - Conte Spagnoletti Zeuli
Andria · Province of Barletta-Andria-Trani · Puglia
From Andria, on the Murgian plateau of Puglia, Conte Spagnoletti Zeuli oversees the territory of Castel del Monte DOCG. Its three denominations revolve around the indigenous grape variety Nero di Troia, showcasing two opposing facets: on one side, the Riserva versions, rosso and Nero di Troia, which require twenty-four months of aging to build structure and complexity; on the other, Bombino Nero, vinified as a rosato, offering a clearer and leaner interpretation of the same soil. Three labels, a single terroir expressed in varying degrees of intensity: the Murgia becoming dense and long-lived in the Riservas, and simultaneously light and immediate in the rosato. The production area narrows to ten municipalities, and the altitude of the plateau leaves its mark on every wine. The winery opens its doors to the public: visitors passing through Andria can taste directly on site, comparing the Riservas with the Bombino Nero and understanding with a single sip how a single grape variety changes character depending on the altitude and the chosen vinification.
