Az. Mauro Troncon

In Grosseto, where Sangiovese dominates the hills, Az. Mauro Troncon works with a single denomination: Morellino di Scansano DOCG. The grape variety is rooted in limestone and clay soils spread across seven municipalities, and from this geological base, dry red wines of essential character are born, without concessions to artifice. The production philosophy seeks balance rather than power: the natural acidity of Sangiovese finds its counterpoint in the tannic structure, while the Tuscan microclimate tempers the volumes and maintains alcohol levels at measured values, starting from the 12.5% minimum stipulated by the disciplinary. The result is wines with a mineral and precise profile, designed to accompany the table rather than to dominate it. The house's signature lies in this fidelity to the terroir, declared as a choice and not a slogan: a Morellino that reflects the landscape from which it comes, interpreted through the only variety that truly matters here, without seeking stylistic shortcuts.
