In Castiglione Falletto, the geographical heart of Barolo, Azelia has been cultivating the land since 1920, when Luigi Scavino planted the first rows. Since then, five generations have succeeded one another in the same vineyard, meticulously tending to the vines and transforming Nebbiolo and Dolcetto into four of the Langa's top denominations. The catalog reads like a geography of grape varieties: on one side, the Nebbiolo of the great Barolo and Barbaresco reds; on the other, Dolcetto expressed in Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba. Uniting these expressions is a declared philosophy of purity and balance, which places great trust in time. Each wine respects its own aging rhythm, from the thirty-eight months mandated for Barolo to the leaner, more ready-to-drink versions of the rest of the range. The fundamental belief is simple and rigorous: quality stems from impeccable grapes, and from there, it descends without compromise. This is a winery that measures itself not by words, but by the consistency of work that has remained unchanged for a century.
