Since 2004, the Campisi & Russo farm in Siracusa has moved over six thousand tons of fresh vegetables and citrus fruits annually to Italy and Europe, managing every phase under one roof: cultivation, packaging, and delivery. This extensive operation is governed by precise agronomic criteria—targeted irrigation, the use of beneficial insects, natural pollination—and is complemented by solar panels on the processing warehouses. At the heart of their single protected denomination is Limone di Siracusa IGP, harvested year-round in its three forms: Primofiore, Bianchetto, and Verdello, each linked to a different season and use. The continuity of the harvest is not a commercial whim but an inherent characteristic of the fruit itself, which here re-flowers and ripens in staggered times. The environmental choices—energy, water management, biological control—are integrated with service to modern distribution, in a model where sustainability and advanced logistics walk hand in hand. The lemon thus becomes the pivot of a supply chain designed to arrive fresh and recognizable even on the most distant shelves.
