Azienda Agricola Montaldo

Azienda Agricola Montaldo oversees four denominations across the diverse terroirs of Mantua province, bringing together soils and altitudes rarely found within a single winery. Down on the plain's clay soils, Quistello IGT is born, built around the Ancellotta grape, while the Lambrusco Mantovano DOC umbrella embraces twenty-one municipalities and their tradition of lively red wines. Higher up, on the morainic hills around one hundred and fifty meters, the white wines of Garda Colli Mantovani DOC foster a dialogue between Garganega and Trebbiano giallo. Completing the picture is Provincia di Mantova IGT, a broad category that allows space for vinifications of Ancellotta, Barbera, and Cabernet Sauvignon depending on the vintage and intention. The result is a layered interpretation of the Mantuan territory: the plains for Lambruschi, the hills for white wines, and the two IGTs to encompass what the stricter denominations do not. It's a catalog that tells the story of local geography more than it pursues a single style.
