AZIENDA VITIVINICOLA ODDONE PRATI
Strevi · Province of Alessandria · Piemonte
In Strevi, amidst vineyards inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list, Oddone Prati cultivates clay-marl and limestone soils that yield wines with a marked profile, well-suited for aging. The family's story, which began in 1880, is now expressed through three prestigious `DOCG` denominations, all Piedmontese and all centered on the region's emblematic grape varieties. The triptych tells the story of Monferrato through variety: `Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato`, where the eponymous grape defines an aromatic and distinctive red; `Barbera d'Asti`, with its minimum four-month aging; and `Terre Alfieri`, which offers both white and red versions. These three designations do not overlap but cover complementary registers, from structured reds to whites, providing a broad portrait of the Asti and Alessandria areas. The cellar is open to visitors: it's worth a stop to taste the wines on site and, glass in hand, discern the connection between these soils and the grape varieties they represent.
