Giovanni Barroero operates from Farigliano, in the province of Cuneo, with access to four DOCG denominations that cover some of Piedmont's most demanding terroirs. Its location, on the Doglianese side, brings the winery into contact with both worlds of the Langhe: that of Dolcetto and that of Nebbiolo. The portfolio reflects this dual soul. On one side, Dolcetto, with Diano d'Alba and Dogliani, approachable reds deeply rooted in their territory; on the other, Nebbiolo, with Barbaresco and Barolo—the latter vinified with at least thirty-eight months of aging and an alcohol content of thirteen degrees. Managing four such diverse denominations requires a nuanced understanding of microclimates and the ability to adapt to vintage variability, as each grape demands specific responses in the vineyard and cellar. It's a range that spans the entire spectrum of Langhe reds, from everyday drinking to wines meant for long cellaring.
