Recioto di Soave DOCGSoave Superiore DOCG

Rooted in Monteforte d'Alpone, in the Verona area, Bogoni crafts two DOCG denominations from the same calcareous soil and the same mother grape, Garganega. Soave Superiore combines it with Trebbiano di Soave or Chardonnay for a white wine with distinct minerality, taut with the natural acidity that these soils impart to the grape. Recioto di Soave, on the other hand, takes the path of concentration: from the same white grapes, sweet and dense passito and sparkling versions are born, where the drying process shifts the focus from vibrancy to richness. Both wines reach at least 12% alcohol, but they tell two opposite ways of interpreting Garganega—one dry and vertical, the other round and luscious. It's the interplay of a restricted area, just twelve municipalities, that extracts both rigor and sweetness from the same grape variety. The overall interpretation is that of a Venetian terroir capable of bending a single grape to very distant outcomes, according to the producer's choice.
