Bonturi Narciso

Bonturi Narciso is based in Peschiera del Garda, on the Venetian edge of the `DOC Lugana`, a denomination that crosses regional borders, extending over five municipalities between Veneto and Lombardy, close to the lake. Here, the reference grape variety is `Turbiana`, an indigenous variant of `Trebbiano` that finds its most recognizable expression in this microclimate. From the gravelly, lacustrine soils come white wines ranging from the standard version to the more ambitious superiore and riserva, all with a minimum alcohol content of eleven percent. Proximity to Lake Garda is the decisive factor: the mass of water moderates seasonal extremes and allows the grapes a prolonged ripening, which translates into the typical mineral precision of `Lugana` wines. It is a lake white rather than a hill white, where the landscape dictates the pace and the grape variety responds with measure. Bonturi interprets it by staying within the perimeter of a single denomination, explored in all its nuances.
