Borgo Scopeto

Borgo Scopeto spans 503 hectares in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at the southern tip of Chianti Classico, where clay-marl soils and limestone veins impart a taut, mineral character to the wine. Only a portion of the estate is cultivated: seventy hectares of vineyards, fifty of olive groves, while the forest reclaims all the rest and surrounds the property like a natural frame. The heart of the estate is a medieval borgo, restored with period materials and rigorous conservation criteria, which today houses the winery alongside stately homes and ancient rural buildings. Here, centuries-old architecture and contemporary viticulture coexist seamlessly, forming a landmark in the Sienese landscape. A visit allows one to experience this stratification firsthand: walking through the borgo, observing the winemaking process in the cellar, and tasting Chianti Classico where it is born remains the most direct way to understand how ancient stone and new vines speak the same language at Borgo Scopeto.
