Barbaresco DOCGBarolo DOCGDogliani DOCG+1

From Piobesi d'Alba, on the ridges of the Cuneo area, Emanuele Buganza's estate brings together four denominations, all DOCG. Two are based on Nebbiolo—Barolo and Barbaresco—among the most demanding red wines in the Italian landscape, each with its mandatory months of aging and its reputation as a wine that demands time and contemplation. The other two speak the more immediate language of Dolcetto: Dogliani, whose area covers 21 municipalities, and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba, more moderate in alcohol content but no less marked by the terroir from which they originate. Lining them up is not just a matter of cataloging: it means overseeing the entire expressive range of the Langhe, from reds for long aging to those to be drunk younger. It is the portrait of a producer aware of classic Piedmontese grammars, capable of moving between opposing registers without losing the thread of the territory. Four DOCG, a single idea of fidelity to the landscape from which they come, interpreted in its different speeds.
