Bulgarini Silvano

In Pozzolengo, on the Brescian edge of the lower Garda area, Silvano Bulgarini cultivates Turbiana on clay-calcareous soils that impart a distinctly mineral precision to his white wines. The winery's sole denomination, Lugana DOC, arises from the dialogue between the deep substratum of the terroir and the moderating hand of the lake, which softens the extremes of the continental climate and extends the ripening period. From this restricted geography emerge different interpretations of the same grape variety: from the taut and immediate bianco to the wood-aged riserva wines, capable of gaining body without losing their acidic backbone. These are wines that speak of the eastern slopes where they grow, where flint and slate emerge in the glass as the signature of the place. Bulgarini does not seek exuberance, but definition: the tension between lacustrine freshness and continental concentration remains the thread that holds the entire range together, a measure of work that prioritizes reading the soil over seeking effect.
