🏡 Tastings & visitsAsti DOCG

In Calosso, twelve hectares of vineyard tell a story of continuity that cadastral records trace back to 1758. The Bussi Piero di Bussi Federico winery operates under the single Asti DOCG denomination, but behind that name lies a four-generation saga: the first step was taken by Agostino Bussi who, returning from the First World War, broke with his father's habit of selling grapes to merchants and made his own batch of Barbera. From that gesture, today's winery descends. Production revolves around Moscato bianco and permitted aromatic grape varieties, expressed as spumante, metodo classico, and still white wines, each aged for at least one month. Geography helps: we are on the ridge separating Monferrato and Langhe, a landscape inscribed among UNESCO heritage sites, where the aromaticity of the grape finds its most natural expression. Those who arrive in Calosso will find a fully active winery, not a family museum: it's worth a visit to follow, from vineyard to bottle, how a single denomination can encompass different ways of interpreting spumante and white wine.
