Bolgheri DOCBolgheri Sassicaia DOC

In Castagneto Carducci, on the soils of Bolgheri, Campastrello i Socci navigates between two contiguous denominations: the DOC Bolgheri and its most celebrated enclave, the Bolgheri Sassicaia. The repertoire begins with white wines — `Vermentino` and `Sauvignon`, with a minimum alcohol content of 11.5% — but finds its center of gravity in the reds, where `Cabernet Sauvignon` leads selected blends aged for at least twenty-four months. This is a narrow geography, concentrating two recognitions of different significance within a few kilometers: on one side, the expressive breadth of the `DOC`, and on the other, the almost single-estate specificity of the Sassicaia subzone. The producer brings them together with the same attention, from the vineyard to the choice of wood, without succumbing to the temptation of a single stylistic signature. The result is wines that declare their terroir before the grape variety, and that interpret Bolgheri not as a brand but as a combination of soils, exposures, and regulations to be respected vintage after vintage.
