CANEPA GIULIANO

Canepa Giuliano operates in the hilly territories where Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato — a rare grape variety — finds its most authentic expression, with reds that emphasize minerality rather than power. From here, production extends to the seven municipalities of the area and reaches the domains of Terre Alfieri, where white Arneis and red Nebbiolo meet stringent quality standards. The scope finally extends to Barbera d'Asti, widespread across one hundred and sixty-five municipalities, whose minimum four-month aging in wood builds complexity and structure. Three DOCG denominations, therefore, ranging from a niche grape variety to one of southern Piedmont's most widespread, with Terre Alfieri acting as a varietal hinge between white and red. It's an offering that brings together very different territorial scales — from the few municipalities of Ruchè to the many of Barbera — providing a portrait of Monferrato and Astigiano interpreted through the relationship between grape rarity and denomination breadth.
