CANTINA SOCIALE DI VINCHIO VAGLIO SERRA S.C.A.

On the steep slopes of Asti Monferrato, Cantina Sociale di Vinchio Vaglio Serra brings its viticulturists together around a heritage of old Barbera vines that the cooperative has protected since 1985. From these vines comes the Vigne Vecchie 50 2023, awarded the Tre Bicchieri by Gambero Rosso: aged in steel and concrete, it emphasizes the mineral character of the grape rather than wood. Three denominations run through the catalog. Barbera d'Asti remains the heart of their work, but alongside it, Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato, a niche aromatic red, and Terre Alfieri, which opens up the range from whites like Arneis to reds for aging, are also cultivated. It is a portrait of a cooperative that defends the roots of its main grape variety without giving up on exploring the other voices of Monferrato. The winery is open for visits and tastings: an opportunity to taste in one place the entire spectrum, from fresh whites to long-aging reds.
