CANTINA STROPPIANA S.S.A.

In La Morra, on the western ridge of the Langhe, Cantina Stroppiana has reached its fourth generation since the family began acquiring vineyards between the village and Monforte d'Alba in the 1950s. These rows nurture the area's two cornerstone grape varieties, Nebbiolo and Dolcetto, which become four DOCG-certified wines: from the Barolo and Barbaresco, crafted from Nebbiolo with their prolonged aging, to the more straightforward character of Dogliani and Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba. The management of the estates follows a precise idea of balance: hazelnut trees and native trees coexist with the vines to preserve the character of each vineyard and integrate it into its environment. This is a choice the winery gladly shares with visitors—the cellar welcomes tours and tastings, an opportunity to sample the four wines side-by-side and discern, in the glass, the subtle differences between the crus of La Morra and Monforte, just a few kilometers apart but with distinct personalities.
