CANTINA VITICOLTORI SENESI ARETINI

Sinalunga · Province of Siena · Toscana

Orcia DOC

Founded in 1971, Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini brings together the work of over two hundred contributing members, whose vineyards cover three hundred and fifty hectares straddling the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. The cooperative was born with a precise objective: to restore unitary quality to the grapes of small producers, which would otherwise be dispersed. Its scope coincides with the twelve municipalities of `Orcia DOC`, a strip of southern Tuscany bordered by the hills of Cortona, the `Val di Chiana`, and `Montepulciano`. From this geography emerges a range built around `Sangiovese`: structured reds, reserve versions, and rosés that lighten the register without betraying its essence. The common characteristic is the soil, rich in limestone, which imparts a mineral backbone and a recognizable tension to the wines. In a territory overshadowed by the famous names surrounding it, the `Orcia DOC` denomination asserts its own identity, and the cooperative is its collective expression: many hands, many rows, a single interpretation of the landscape.
