Established in 1971 in Sinalunga, Cantina Viticoltori Senesi Aretini gathers over two hundred contributing members across approximately 350 hectares distributed between the provinces of Siena and Arezzo. The production heartland lies in the vineyards beneath the hills of Cortona and the `Val di Chiana`, where the `Valdichiana Toscana DOC` takes shape, the winery's sole denomination. Here, `Sangiovese`, `Cabernet`, `Merlot`, and `Syrah` find favorable conditions, complemented by an elegantly crafted `Chardonnay`; the minimum alcohol threshold is 10%. The cooperative structure defines the winery's identity: to enhance the value of small contributors, transforming vineyard fragments into a coherent range that spans from structured reds to leaner whites. The project's strength lies in its scale—the sum of many diverse parcels—and its ability to maintain the recognizable character of a border territory, where Sienese and Aretine sensibilities meet within a single denomination, interpreted as a synthesis rather than a compromise.
