When Gabriele De Falco arrived in Salento in 1944—then known as the "Cellar of Italy"—he founded an enterprise that would span four generations. Angelo, Pasquale, and Salvatore first, then the young Gabriele: each added a decade of work to the twenty hectares the company cultivates in the best positions of the territory, among Negroamaro, Susumaniello, and Malvasia nera, the indigenous grape varieties that find their home here. On this foundation rest the two house denominations, Squinzano DOC and Brindisi DOC, offered in both red and white versions: a range that summarizes, in a few labels, the two souls of Salento's winemaking. Eight decades of harvests have refined a steady hand, recognizable in the glass even before the label. Cantine De Falco opens its doors in Novoli: it's worth a stop to understand, on site, how a century of family continuity translates into wine, and how the same land can give the glass two distinct registers.
