Cantine di Castignano

Offida DOCG

Active since 1960, Cantine di Castignano roots its identity in the vineyards of Piceno, where Pecorino and other native grape varieties ripen under the influence of the Adriatic. The sole denomination claimed is Offida DOCG, which encompasses twenty-five municipalities: it is within this perimeter that the winery's white and red expressions are born, fruit of grapes marked by Mediterranean warmth and sea air. The production choice is one of minimal intervention, aiming to let the character of the terroir speak more than the hand of the winemaker. The resulting wines exceed twelve percent alcohol without losing a luminous precision, where the underlying salinity—that earthy and marine signature combined—remains the defining trait of Offida. It is not a range built on power, but on the balance between fruit ripeness and freshness, a compromise made possible by the climate of Piceno. The winery's long continuity, over half a century, is reflected in this stylistic coherence more than in any statement of intent.
