Canus

Canus operates from a 'ronco' in Gramogliano, the terraced landscape that has defined Friuli's wine hills since the Venetian era of the sixteenth century. Vineyards and cellar occupy a south-facing slope, with the Judrio stream flowing at its base and the Julian Prealps closing the horizon. It's a natural amphitheater that guides every decision, from the placement of the rows to the timing of maturation. The winery focuses its work on three denominations, all expressions of the region's most precious wines: Ramandolo DOCG, Rosazzo DOCG, and Picolit DOCG. The grapes come from their own vineyards, and each wine rests for a minimum of two years in the cellar before being bottled on-site, without external transfers. It's a short supply chain, carefully monitored from vine to bottle. Those who venture up to Gramogliano can visit the estate, appreciate its southern exposure, and taste three labels that tell the story of the most refined Friuli.
