Casa E. di Mirafiore

Founded in 1878 by Count Emanuele Alberto Guerrieri, son of the first King of Italy, Casa E. di Mirafiore was established with holdings between Barolo and Fontanafredda and with a business vision that intertwined oenology and community. Its founder was responsible for then-audacious choices — the first concrete vats in the cellar — and collective works such as housing, a chapel, and the Fratellanza Agricola Operaia (Agricultural Workers' Brotherhood). That dedication to quality as a comprehensive project survives in the sole denomination the winery champions today: Alta Langa DOCG, a Metodo Classico sparkling wine made from Pinot nero and Chardonnay. Thirty months on the lees sculpt its profile, balancing elegance with a mineral precision that is the signature of the Langhe's hilly exposures. It is a wine that synthesizes the winery's journey: yesterday's technical innovation put at the service of a rigorous, measured, and long-lived sparkling wine, far from any commercial shortcuts.
