Cascina Le Preseglie

In Desenzano del Garda, Cascina Le Preseglie relies on a single denomination, Lugana DOC, and its emblematic grape, Turbiana. From this grape variety, the winery produces the styles stipulated by the regulations—bianco, superiore, and riserva—within a narrow geography of five municipalities and above the minimum alcohol threshold of 11%. These are white wines that reflect the southern part of Lake Garda in the Brescia area, amidst moraines and a climate tempered by the water. The dedication to Turbiana brings to light the Trebbiano origins of the denomination, without making it an exercise in archaeology: the vinification remains contemporary in style, and complementary white wines accompany the main grape without overshadowing it. Within a single denomination, the winery finds sufficient material to articulate multiple registers, from the more immediate Lugana to versions destined for aging. The thread that unites them is the lakeside territory, its light and humidity, translated into a white wine that changes weight and depth depending on the chosen style, but never changes its direction.
