Casisano

The Casisano estate occupies twenty-two hectares of vineyard on a terrace at 480 meters, in the southeast sector of Montalcino. Here, the altitude and the convergence of cool northern winds and the marine breeze from the southwest create thermal excursions that govern the ripening of `Sangiovese`, while the galestro soil, rich in clay and lime, imparts a mineral and saline complexity to the wines. On this foundation, the winery works with a single denomination, `Brunello di Montalcino DOCG`, aged for the forty-eight months required by the production specifications. The elevated position, overlooking Sant'Angelo in Colle, is an integral part of the story: those who visit the estate can taste directly from this beautiful viewpoint, discerning in the glass the altitude and soils that define it.
