In 1976, Ferdinando Bergaglio and his son Roberto established La Chiara on Gavi's slopes, translating decades of local vineyard work into their own venture. Three generations later, the estate spans 28 hectares entirely within Gavi's boundaries, cultivating Cortese vines across the DOCG zone. The family produces white wines—still, frizzante, and spumante—rooted in the territory's terroir and the technical vision that first drew the Bergaglios to this corner of Piedmont.
