Founded in January 1946 during Italy's post-war reconstruction, Latteria Sociale Stallone emerged as one of the era's first cooperative dairies, uniting twenty-six local landowners around shared production ideals. Relocated to Villanova sull'Arda the following year, the cooperative built its reputation on Grana Padano DOP—wheels of slowly matured cow's-milk cheese aged in distinct stages. Today it remains a working estate where visitors taste wheels that define Piacenza's gastronomic identity, each aging regime revealing different flavor profiles across the cheese's dense, crystalline structure.
