Luca Faccinelli's terraced vineyards cling to slopes reaching 70% gradient across Valtellina Superiore's classified crus—Grumello, Inferno, Sassela—at elevations between 400 and 650 metres. Every task unfolds by hand on ancient stone walls where Nebbiolo vines over eighty years old root into shallow, mineral soils. The producer's two DOCG expressions—Valtellina Superiore (minimum 24 months oak) and Sforzato di Valtellina (20 months minimum, offering both dry and passito styles)—age in fifteenth-century cellars beneath medieval Chiuro, where barrel-vaulted stone chambers preserve the vineyard's intensity across generations.
