Poggio Santa Maria

Poggio Santa Maria sits on the hills between Castiglione del Lago and Montepulciano, overlooking Lake Chiusi. Owner and surgeon Massimiliano Marchetti opened the modern winery in 2021, completing a vision launched a decade earlier with two inaugural wines. Today the estate crafts Colli del Trasimeno DOC reds from Sangiovese, Ciliegiolo, Gamay, and Merlot, alongside whites and vino santo. Sustainability runs through every decision, woven into the producer's technical and ethical approach. The cantina welcomes visitors for tastings year-round and hosts private events in its purpose-built spaces.
