'A VITA

In Cirò Marina, on the Crotone coast, 'A Vita takes its name from the Calabrian term for vine, a declaration of intent more than a simple sign. Founded by Francesco and Laura—a partnership between Calabrian and Friulian roots—the winery produces Gaglioppo and other local red wines within two contiguous denominations, Cirò and Melissa, which tell the story of the same strip of Calabria with different nuances. The philosophy is based on the slow pace of agriculture and a declared responsibility towards the territory: biodiversity and environmental respect guide every harvest, even before cellar choices are made. The result is wines that seek fidelity to the grape variety rather than effect, balance rather than power. It is a way of understanding contemporary viticulture as stewardship, where Gaglioppo once again becomes the language of the place and not just a variety to be bottled.
