Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio DOCG

In Teolo, amidst the Colli Euganei, the Abbazia di Praglia cultivates Moscato giallo and other aromatic white grape varieties within the Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio DOCG denomination, which encompasses seventeen municipalities in the province of Padua. From a single aromatic base, the estate produces three distinct interpretations—still white wines, sparkling wines (*spumanti*), and dessert wines (*passiti*)—offering a nuanced reading of a DOCG that thrives on the versatility of Moscato. The underlying soil plays a key role: the volcanic soils of the hills impart a minerality to the wines that supports and tempers the floral exuberance of the aromatic grapes, preventing the profile from becoming overly sweet. Still, sparkling, or *passito*, each version starts from the same grape variety and isolates a different possibility—dry tension, effervescence, or sugar concentration—providing a complete portrait of the Euganean denomination. The Abbey's work lies in this ability to make a single grape variety speak with multiple voices, all traceable to the volcanic character of the Paduan territory.
