Cuglieri · Province of Oristano · Sardegna

Sardegna DOP

In Cuglieri, within the Montiferru area of Oristano, Agricola Peddio preserves an olive-growing heritage dating back to Giovanni Cocco, its founder in the early decades of the twentieth century. It was he who planted the olive groves on the slopes and brought the oil to the markets of Cagliari; his son Bastiano accelerated its modernization, introducing the first mechanical shaker to the area and replacing stone mills with a continuous-cycle oil mill. A technical transition that changed methods without abandoning the goal of quality. From this continuity, today comes an oil under the Sardegna DOP label, the company's sole denomination, recognizable by its fruity aromas and distinct, assertive bitter notes that define its personality. The olive groves from which it originates tell a story of generations of family work and a precise geography, that of Montiferru, where olives ripen on inland slopes far from the island's coastal cliché. It is an extra virgin olive oil that carries the memory of a century of milling and the inherited will to never separate technique and territory.
