Agù (Azienda Vitivinicola Agù)

Bagnolo Piemonte · Province of Cuneo · Piemonte

Pinerolese DOC

In Bagnolo Piemonte, on the edge of the Pinerolese denomination, Agù works within a district of thirty-four municipalities where the Alpine foothills and calcareous soils set the tone of the terroir. The winery draws from a range of grape varieties—Barbera, Nebbiolo, Bonarda, and the indigenous Chatus—to produce reds and rosés that translate the mineral character of the soil and the moderate continental climate of the province of Cuneo. In adherence to the denomination's rules, each wine seeks a balance between structure and drinkability, moving between distinct styles without forcing any. Chatus, in particular, roots the production in the local ampelographic heritage, while more common grape varieties broaden the range. The result is a measured interpretation of Pinerolese, where the Alpine imprint—fresh, stony—remains the constant that binds together bottles of different temperaments. It is a production that looks to the mountains more than the plains, and that draws its backbone from the Cuneo reliefs.
