Akrille

Akrille operates in Chiaramonte Gulfi, on the Hyblaean plateau that marks the southeastern boundary of Sicily's wine region. This is where Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG, the winery's sole denomination, takes shape, born from the encounter between Nero d'Avola and Frappato: the former brings structure and body, the latter aroma and verve. The red wines rest for at least eight months during aging, a period in which their tannic texture softens and gains complexity. Chiaramonte Gulfi is one of fourteen municipalities that define the boundaries of this protected origin, a restricted perimeter that concentrates the denomination's character. Akrille interprets it with a precise idea of minerality, seeking tension and definition rather than opulence. Their work stems from a thorough knowledge of Sicilian vineyards, followed through every step — from the soil to the cellar and to the table — which becomes the guiding thread of a measured style.
