Aldegheri
Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella · Province of Verona · Veneto
In Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, the Aldegheri family has cultivated vineyards and cellars since 1956, with a handed-down division of tasks: Lorenzo oversees grape selection and fermentation times, while his brother Adriano leads the innovation of the facilities. From this balance between hand and machine, three denominations emerge, all centered around Garganega and the complementary white grapes of the Verona area. The Custoza DOC represents the most everyday and fresh expression, while the Soave Superiore DOCG seeks greater structure and longevity. At the opposite extreme is the Recioto di Soave DOCG, the sweet wine made from dried grapes that ideally concludes the range with its concentration. Three different ways to interpret the same white grape variety, from immediate enjoyment to contemplative sipping. Visitors to the winery can explore the full spectrum: a tour of the production areas and a tasting of the complete range reveal how a single grape can transform its character depending on the denomination and chosen method.
