Alla Fonte di Feresin Sebastiano

In Este, on the southern edge of the Colli Euganei, Alla Fonte di Feresin Sebastiano works with a single denomination, Colli Euganei Fior d'Arancio DOCG, but expresses it in three registers. The protagonist is Moscato giallo, an aromatic grape variety that finds its ideal contrast between exuberant fragrance and mineral support in the volcanic soils of the Padua area. From the same grape, a dry white, a sparkling wine, and a passito are born: three ways of interpreting the same aromaticity, from a taut, dry sip to the dense concentration of the dried-grape wine. The regulations set a minimum alcohol content of 10.5%, but the real challenge here is balance, holding together the natural fragrant exuberance of Moscato with structure and measure. The altitude and the mineral richness of the soil do the rest, imparting precision to each version. The winery welcomes visitors: coming here allows you to taste the three facets of Fior d'Arancio in sequence and understand, glass after glass, how a single grape can change its voice without losing its accent.
