In Ameglia, on the Tyrrhenian side facing the Apuan Alps, Anima Ligure manages the region's most extensive organic surface area of Basilico Genovese DOP: over 170,000 square meters of protected crops, a scale that alone speaks volumes about its importance in the supply chain. The microclimate of this slope is the true raw material. Sheltered and well-exposed, the plants develop small, oval leaves, which retain the delicate aroma essential for authentic pesto genovese. Production fully adheres to European organic certification: no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, but agricultural cycles calibrated to respect the soil, landscape, and working conditions. The result is a basil of aromatic intensity difficult to match, where the scale does not contradict the rigor of the method but rather puts it to the test hectare after hectare, harvest after harvest.
