Antico Broilo

Antico Broilo is rooted in Prepotto, on the eastern hills of Friuli, and works with three DOCG denominations: Ramandolo, Rosazzo, and Colli Orientali del Friuli Picolit. Two of these belong to the sweet wine category — the Verduzzo giallo of Ramandolo becomes a complex wine exceeding fourteen degrees of alcohol — while Rosazzo yields dry whites from a blend of Friulano, Sauvignon, and Pinot bianco, with at least 12% alcohol and a distinct mineral tension. This range covers the extremes of Friulian white wines, from sugary concentration to dry crispness, all within the confines of a restricted territory. Care extends to managing the grape load per vine, controlled with eco-compatible methods and without synthetic chemicals, so that each bottle remains a clear expression of its place. Antico Broilo thus interprets the vocation of a northeastern countryside where elevations and soils change subtly: three denominations, a single language, that of wines that measure the distance between sweetness and minerality within the same area.
