Araldica – Il Cascinone

Alta Langa DOCG

In Acqui Terme, Araldica – Il Cascinone cultivates 102 compact hectares to give Alta Langa DOCG its taut and measured effervescence. The estate originated in the 1920s but fell into disuse in the late 20th century: steep and challenging slopes, forgotten infrastructure, a suspended vocation. Its entry into the Araldica Group in 2001 restarted operations, with patient replanting of the vineyards and cellar renovations completed in 2004, restoring the estate's ability to vinify on-site. From here, Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, the two grapes that Alta Langa expresses in sparkling and rosé wines, begin their journey. Each bottle rests for a minimum of thirty months on the lees, a long period that refines any impetuosity and builds the fine structure of these mountain wines. It is the mark of a method that transforms once ungrateful slopes into precise bubbles, where the effort of the hillside is reflected in the tension of the sip rather than in any superficial softness.
