In Monforte d'Alba, in the province of Cuneo, ATTITUDINE by Alessandro Baglio operates in one of Piedmont's most demanding areas. From the sloping vineyards emerge four DOCG denominations, divided into two families. The Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba and Dogliani reveal the mineral backbone of the grape variety across an area of twenty-one municipalities, offering wines with a direct and recognizable profile. On the other side are the two Nebbiolo wines, which demand entirely different patience. Barbaresco requires a minimum aging of twenty-six months, while Barolo extends to thirty-eight: long periods that the winery repays with the complexity by which serious ambition is measured. The coexistence of Dolcetto and Nebbiolo in the same portfolio is not accidental, but rather tells of two speeds of the same territory—mineral immediacy on one hand, structured waiting on the other. Baglio manages both, remaining faithful to the ruggedness of this area, where slopes and contained yields offer no easy path. The resulting wines bear the imprinted character of Monforte and the Langhe, interpreted through four distinct but coherent denominations.
