From Vignale Monferrato, Az. Agr. Accornero Giulio e Figli works with three denominations distributed between Monferrato and Astigiano. At its heart is a rare indigenous grape variety, Ruchè, which finds its most distinctive expression in Ruchè di Castagnole Monferrato DOCG; alongside, Terre Alfieri and Barbera d'Asti reveal the region's more earthy side, with the latter requiring at least four months of aging to build its structure. The declared philosophy is one without shortcuts: the land alone is not enough, and only the combination of vineyard and cellar work generates wines worthy of the glass. This idea becomes tangible during a visit, which guides guests through the rows of vines and winemaking facilities to observe the entire production cycle, from plant to bottle. The tour concludes with a tasting of the Grand Cru selection, served with local appetizers. It's an invitation worth the stop: to walk through the vineyards of Monferrato and then taste, on site, the winery's interpretation of a rare grape variety and two characterful reds.
