Az. Agr. Assennato

In Avola, within the area that gave its name to Nero d'Avola, Az. Agr. Assennato has cultivated vines since the late eighteenth century, interpreting Sicilian grape varieties with fidelity to their organoleptic characteristics. The rows are concentrated in the San Lorenzo and Buonivini districts, in Val di Noto, and yield full-bodied reds. Production moves between two registers of the same region: Sicilia DOC, with its stricter constraints, and the more flexible Sicilia IGP, two denominations that cover different degrees of rigor for the same range of grapes. Alongside the wine, the olive grove provides an extra virgin olive oil with aromatic notes of green tomato and a certified polyphenol concentration, completing the agricultural portrait of the company. Assennato also opens its doors to visitors: tastings are accompanied by typical local products and, by reservation, a shuttle service provides transport to the farm — a tangible opportunity to taste wine and oil in the exact place where they originate.
